How to Remove Onion Smell From Hair?

Onion Smell From Your Hair – My Experience
I am an avid fan of all things aromatic. In particular I love the smell of old books or musty perfume. However, I do not love the smell of onion on my hair, especially after I have chopped onions in my cooking. Why does this happen? Let me tell you about my experience…
I turn to a number of products and home remedies to try and get rid of the onion smell from my hair:
• Voss Watermelon Breeze Shampoo
• Dove Advanced Care Dry Oil Conditioner
• Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
• Head & Shoulders Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Spray with Clean Comfort Technology
After trying out these treatments for about a month, some worked better than others. The one that did nothing was the Head & Shoulders Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Spray with Clean Comfort Technology because its active ingredients are known to irritate skin more than make it healthier. Finally, after a lot of trial and error, I found what seemed like the perfect solution! While showering with L’Occitane’s La Petite Robe Noire Shampoo and Conditioner, I washed my scalp vigorously with warm water to remove any remaining traces of onion from my hair before rinsing with cold water. This eliminated any lingering smells on my hair. After shampooing your scalp twice (one with warm water and one without),

Burdock and Lemon Juice

I learned from my hairdresser that I could use burdock root and lemon juice to get rid of the smell. This is a great combination as both of these ingredients are known for their ability to remove odors from hair. Burdock root is used in many beauty treatments, so if you have a plant in your kitchen or garden, it might be worth trying this remedy. You just need to mix the burdock root with some water and lemon juice. Then, after you rinse your hair, comb through the mixture thoroughly to make sure it has been removed.

Rice bran oil

& baking soda
The first time my hair smell of onion happened after I had chopped onions in my cooking. The smell was so strong that it made me gag and it stayed with me for a day or two. It wasn’t until I tried using rice bran oil and baking soda that I realized what was going on. Rice bran oil is an excellent remedy to get rid of onion smell from your hair because it has a high concentration of omega 6 fatty acids which are known to have an antibacterial effect. Baking soda can also be a good way to remove the onion smell from your hair by absorbing the odor.
Lesson Learned: If you want to get rid of the onion smell from your hair, try using rice bran oil and baking soda!

Honey and Baking soda

The first time I cooked up some onions, I didn’t notice the smell. What happened? Well, it turns out that the heat from cooking and chopping onions not only cooks off their flavor but also releases their natural oils into the air. These oils leave behind a strong onion-scented aroma.

But don’t worry! There are several solutions for getting rid of onion smell from your hair. You can use baking soda or honey to neutralize the scents left behind by your cooking. Here is what you do:
1) Dip a toothbrush in warm water and mix in two tablespoons of baking soda 2) Brush your hair thoroughly with the baking soda solution 3) Rinse with shampoo 4) Condition as usual

Rosewater and Apple Cider Vinegar

I have to say that I was skeptical when I came across this remedy on a blog post. However, it seemed to work surprisingly well. The amount of onion juice that can be removed is dependent upon how long you leave your hair in the solution and how much water you use.
You will need:
Rose Water
Apple Cider Vinegar
A large bowl
A smaller dish or cup
A towel (or piece of paper)
Hair conditioner that you don’t mind sacrificing for a little bit
The smell of onion should dissipate after 24 hours or the next day if left overnight.

**I can’t believe I’m writing this. I just feel so embarrassed to admit that I don’t know how to get rid of onion smell from hair.**
